Context

Ajooba Stationery & Gifts is a Dubai-based retailer operating in the gifts and stationery category, where the gap between physical retail and online discovery was still significant in 2013. Most customers found products by walking in; the opportunity was building a digital channel that could capture both individual shoppers and corporate clients placing bulk orders for events and gifting programmes.

Role

As Marketing Strategist and Web Content Manager, Naheed built Ajooba’s digital presence from nothing: the website, the product content architecture, the SEO foundation, and the social and digital marketing strategy that would bring traffic to it. This was a from-scratch build, not an optimisation of something that already existed.

What Was Done

  • Built the e-commerce website, including product catalogue structure, navigation, and content architecture
  • Wrote product descriptions and category content optimised for both search and conversion
  • Implemented on-page SEO across the site, including keyword research tailored to Dubai and UAE shopping behaviour
  • Developed and executed social media strategy to build brand awareness among Dubai’s retail and corporate gifting market
  • Managed digital marketing campaigns to drive traffic and increase online sales
  • Documented the content and marketing approach so the team could run it independently

Outcome

Ajooba moved from no digital presence to a functioning e-commerce operation with search visibility, a growing social audience, and a marketing setup the team could run independently. The work gave the business a real starting point in a Dubai market that has always been one of the Gulf’s most competitive for premium retail.
